The Haw Law Firm offers the services of a mediation attorney in Katy, Texas. Below is some general information regarding mediation:
What is mediation?
According to Section 154.023 of Texas Civil Practices and Remedies Code, mediation is defined as a forum in which an impartial person, the mediator, facilitates communication between parties to promote reconciliation, settlement or understanding among them.
A mediator is not allowed to impose his or her own judgment on the issues for that of the parties. Instead, the parties use the process of mediation in order to settle their own issues.
Why go to mediation?
First and foremost, if you are in a family law case, the court probably requires that you attend mediation. In addition, mediation gives the parties an opportunity to decide their fate as opposed to the Judge.
