Estate Planning

Practice Area

An estate plan is one of the most loving things you can do for your family.

An estate is all the property you own (cars, houses, personal property).

Everyone has an estate and estate planning is not only for the wealthy.

The first goal of an estate plan is to address your medical decisions and finances while you are living but cannot do it yourself, e.g. are incapacitated.

The second goal of an estate plan is to address what happens to your assets when you die.

What Is A Virtual Estate Plan?

Emma or Allison will do most work by telephone or video conference, so you can have an attorney-drafted, personalized, enforceable estate plan without leaving your home.

How Do I Schedule A Consultation?

You can schedule it online at this link.

How Much Does a Flat Fee Estate Plan Cost?

It is very difficult to predict prices before having a short conversation with you. If you schedule a free, 15-minute phone call at this link, you can schedule your appointment.

As an example of prices:

Will-Based Estate Plans

Individual – $800

Married Couple – $1200

Trust-Based Estate Plans

Add $1500 to above prices

What Documents Are Included?

Your estate plan will include all needed documents to handle your estate, including a will, trust (if applicable), power of attorney, health care power of attorney, HIPAA power of attorney, declaration of guardian, declaration of guardian for children, and designation of disposition for remains.

The Process

1. Initial Consultation

The process begins with a free, 15 minute phone call that can be scheduled online here. During this conversation, an attorney will collect your basic information, outline the basic estate plan that is recommended for you, and quote a price.

2. Questionnaire

After the initial consultation, a detailed questionnaire will be completed for you to get the important information to your attorney.

Generally, this questionnaire will be completed by you at your own time. If needed, a video consultation can be scheduled to aid you in filling out the questionnaire.

3. Drafting of Documents

An attorney will draft a customized estate plan for you.

4. Review of Documents

You will review the documents and provide corrections or amendments to the documents to your attorney. Sometimes, a meeting will be required but it is not always necessary.

5. Signing Documents

You will be provided detailed instructions on how to have the documents signed.
